Mahindra eyes the horticulture market with the MITRA acquisition

Mahindra aims to grow farm machinery business 10-fold in 5 years, says Hemant Sikka, Mahindra & Mahindra Farm Equipment Sector President. Established in 2012 by Devneet Bajaj, M.I.T.R.A. Agro Equipments Pvt. Ltd. produces top-notch horticultural machinery, such as vineyard and orchard sprayers, pruning tools, and harvesters. Mahindra’s acquisition of the company will strengthen its position in the Indian agricultural sector and expand its horticulture product line. The financial details of the acquisition have not been shared by either company.

Hemant Sikka, the President of FES, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, has stated that the company plans to increase its farm machinery business by ten times in the next five years and is already making significant progress towards this goal.
